When I set out to update my daughter’s room, someone asked me what the style would be. Is it modern? Is it boho? Regency? I think I will go with “boho chic” style for this one. That is probably a made up design term…All I am certain of is that it is totally and completely her own style! You see, the rest of my house is either neutral in earth tones and grays or black and white. When she was younger she drew on the wall of her (monochrome) playroom and said it was because she thought the room needed color! Although I was upset with her coloring on the wall, I couldn’t argue with that! So now that we are updating her space, the key is mixing colors and textures. That giraffe is the cutest and was in her brother’s nursery. We named her High Heels and haven’t been able to part with her even now that my son is out of his nursery. My daughter took her in. I love that even though a lot of the room feels so grown up, the stuffed giraffe keeps it fun. You can purchase your very own High Heels here.
The hanging chair (comes in a natural color too) is the perfect place to relax and read. We are currently reading The Little Princess and will be starting the third Harry Potter book next. Here are the links to the adorable pillows: Fries Before Guys, Rainbow, Cactus.
The cactus in her room is faux from Ikea, mostly because I didn’t want her to run into a real cactus and get hurt. The rest of the plants are real. She waters them, moves them around to get good light. I definitely recommend getting your child a plant to take care of. The plant stand and rattan foot stool is also from Ikea.
I purchased the frames from Michael’s and printed pictures that I knew were special to her. I enlarged that picture of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle to 11 x 13 and used filters to brighten the colors. I am including that as a download at the end of this post! I also included a picture of her having the best time running through rainbow ribbons at the Color Factory and one of favorite ride on the beach boardwalk. You can actually see her and her dad on the ride! The mirror is from Target and the letter board a TJ Maxx find.
That is it for this adorable corner. You will probably find me relaxing here when the kids are at school!
